34 CFR § 668.2 SAMPLE

SAMPLE Cost of Attendance

SAMPLE — not the school's official COA. Direct costs are what a school typically bills. Indirect costs are allowed living and other expenses. Pick a sector to load College Board 2025–26 sticker averages, then overwrite every line with the catalog or aid office budget. This works for universities, community colleges, graduate programs, and trade / clock-hour schools.

Optional school name is only a label — Genie does not look up live tuition. Confirm figures on the school's site, College Navigator, or its net-price calculator.

How to use this without FTI

  • SAMPLE only — replace every line with the school's published Cost of Attendance (catalog or financial aid site).
  • Authority: 34 CFR § 668.2 (Cost of attendance). Direct = billed by the school. Indirect = allowed living and other costs not on the bill.
  • Sector tuition starters are College Board 2025–26 published averages (sticker, not net price). Living lines are adjusted by a SAMPLE state cost index.
  • Net price = COA minus grants. Sticker tuition is not what most students pay. Use the school's net-price calculator and award letter.

Pair with SAMPLE FAFSA / SAI or SAMPLE R2T4. Ask Genie to walk a school's published budget in prose.
