What this service is

Genie is an unofficial AI reference tool for financial aid concepts. It is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education. Do not use it as your official student-information system, COD, NSLDS, or FA office.

Federal Tax Information (FTI) — never

Do not paste or upload Social Security numbers, ITINs, FSA ID passwords, Form 1040 or W-2 line items, AGI, or bank account numbers. Genie is designed so those values are not required. The chat and photo tools refuse obvious FTI patterns. We are not an IRS or FSA authorized recipient of FTI.

What we collect

Account email and a session identifier if you sign in with Google
Subscription tier and Stripe customer / subscription IDs if you pay
Daily message counts used to enforce free-plan limits
A guest cookie so unsigned visitors get one free question
Voice settings stored only in your browser

Chat transcripts stay in your browser for the current session. This version does not store conversation content as a server-side history. Operational logs may be retained up to 30 days.

How we use it

To run the assistant, enforce plan limits, process payments, and keep the service secure. Conversations are not used to train models. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Neon — application database (accounts, plan, usage counters)
Stripe — checkout and subscriptions
Google — optional sign-in
DuckDuckGo — live web search when Genie looks up current deadlines

X/Twitter is linked from the site as a public contact handle; it is not a data processor for your chats.

Cookies

Essential session cookies keep you signed in, remember the guest question, and remember that you accepted this notice. We do not use advertising cookies.

Do not sell my info (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents may request access or deletion by emailing elementone27@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Schools

Do not paste education records unless your institution has a signed DPA with us. See the School DPA template.
